RGBW Motorcycle Team
On Sunday 12th May 2002, 1 RGBW motorcycle race team
took part in KEEVIL Motorcycle Race Day.
The team consisting of the Guest brothers Tom and
Rupert were in the formula 2 sidecar event
while, Tony Day and Ian Evans were in the 400
open and formula 400 events. This was the first
time that the team had got together at such a meeting so the
learning curve was vertical. Both Ian and
Tony who are currently serving away from the first battalion at
Lichfield competed in 2 event in there class and did
well to get round the course and finish.
Ian had a few engine problems while Tony said that he
had really enjoyed his day and was hooked on the
event. Tom and Rupert in the sidecar rig
for the very first time did well to compete with
the experience of the other teams. The
first race gave them the chance to get the feel of the unit and the
course and experience a few minor engine faults which
were sorted ready for race 2 which they competed
in much better finishing the race and enjoying there
day.
Race results:
Race one 12 on the grid, we came 8th due to some
minor engine problems
Race two 12 on the grid, we managed 6th, shaving 4
seconds off our lap time.
