REGIMENTAL MUSEUM AT SALISBURY
REOPENS AFTER REFURBISHMENT
The Regimental
museum at Salisbury has now re-opened after a hectic couple of months
refurbishment. The Curator David CHILTON and his conscripted helpers
worked extremely hard to re design the displays, and to bring them up
to date. The Medal room in particular has seen a major change. The
refurbishment taken together with the re-launched Museum Website has
well and truly placed the museum in a good position to face the new
century. If any of you are able to get to Salisbury the Museum is well
worth a visit, ands if any ex D.E.R.R. soldiers have anything that
might help in terms of display material I’m sure the museum would be
most grateful. ‘Mac’ the ‘Farmersboys’ Website historian is
preparing a special page covering all the upgrades within the Museum
on the history page which will go live in several weeks time. The
attached photograph shows one of the redesigned showcases.
