March Past in ColchesterTroops from the 1st Battalion the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment, who were among the first to enter Kosovo to enforce the UN peace settlement, received medals in a special ceremony on Wednesday 15/12/99. About 100 soldiers from Colchester-based Regiment deployed into Kosovo in June and kept the peace between two bitterly divided sides for four months. A small cross-section of the troops will receive the new Kosovo Medal at the ceremony from General Robin Grist, the Regimental Colonel. On the parade their were 5 Long Service Good Conduct medals and 1 Queen's Commendation for Bravery.
