Martin Mac's Book - The Royal Berkshire Regiment
1914 - 1959

‘Mac’ McIntyre the Farmersboys website historian has now in conjunction with the Regimental Museum produced his first book. The photographic book is entitled the ‘Royal Berkshire Regiment 1914 – 1959’. It takes the regiment from the outbreak of World War one, through to the EOKA campaign in the late 1950s. It contains over two hundred images of this period. This will be followed by another edition covering the early years 1743 to 1914. A lot of research went into this project which to date has been well received. He then intends to repeat the exercise with the Wiltshire Regiment in two volumes. Mac aim is to complete the story with a photographic book for the DERR, thus completing the story. The Museum archives contain thousands of images of 1 DERR but what Mac is intent on doing is to reflect an operational Regiment at work. He does not merely want to reproduce publicity photographs. So his appeal to you all is for ‘Operational Photographs’ that you have taken during your service in the Regiment. It must be said in advance that for every thousand images viewed, one might get used.
If anyone wants a copy of this first masterpiece, it can be obtained from the Regimental Museum Website shop on
