Boris, After looking
through the website, I thought that I would send you some then and now
photos. The website has brought back many memories and prompted me
to look through loads of old photos. I would really like to get in
touch with some old friends, unfortunately none of which are on the
website. Maybe they, like myself will find it by accident.
Thanks to all of you for your efforts in putting the site together a very
worthwhile project. |

Fantastic web page, as you may
remember my IT skills were zero! Although I only joined the Duke
of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment in Feb 88 I consider myself to be a true
'Duke' and it was great to see so many names that even I
Know.
Boris once again fantastic web page you have brought a lot of pleasure
to a lot of people. |

Boy the last few days have
been very exciting. First I hear from Peter Mullins then Bill Hedges and
he told me that Bill Williams lives not far from where I live. So
last night I had a nice chat with Bill (Williams) and now today Dave Smith
wrote to me. All thanks to www.farmersboys.com.
must say thankyou it was needed to have our very own website. Mike. |

22 Feb 01 |
I have finally managed to
find the farmersboys homepage, and i would like to say congratulations to
yourself, Toby, Stu and Martin (the only one I don't remember) on
producing a fantastic site. Glad to see your putting your computer
skills to good use and I hope to see more on the best page on the
web. I have already e-mailed friends I thought I would never hear
from again, this is all due to the hard work put in by the team. |

Well done, excellent

blaring from the computer speakers while she was watching Millionaire!

My time spent with the regiment was some of the best years of my life ( so far ) Hong Kong. NI etc loved it all. It's a shame we had to merge and become RGBW. That was when I decided enough was enough, Got out and joined the police 7 months later. All the best to all who knew LCPL
G. King formerly of 3 Platoon, A Company. Will have to make more of an effort to attend these reunions and catch up on old times. |

Having until quite recently
been very involved with documenting the Regiment's activities during the
previous three centuries for the regimental history 'Cold War Warriors',
may I pass on my sincere congratulations to the whole team for bringing
the former Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment (Berkshire and Wiltshire) so
effectively into the 21st Century: thereby keeping very much alive,
reinforcing and building on the name and memories of a truly great line
infantry regiment. It was also good to see that so many very familiar
names of the Farmers Boys of 1 DERR in former times have already been in
touch. |
|

to the old fisog When's the next smoker.? |

Well done. Promotion of the

published on Part One Orders. Have you registered the 'employment' with
the RHQ business register? WO1 (RSM) Roger Rowley. |

I served with the 1st
Battalion The Royal Berkshire Regiment in Eritrea, Egypt, and the UK before being seconded to serve in The Brigade of Gurkhas.. I
retired in April 1969,and moved to Canada with my family immediately
after. We have lived here ever since. I have made contact with several ex
Royal Berkshiremen here in Canada. You are to be warmly congratulated on
setting up the web-site. May I suggest that using this method of
communication we might try to establish a Canadian Branch of the OCA. In
this country because of it's vast size it may be we need to establish
Provincial chapters. Please let me know how the Regiment feels about the
idea. With best wishes for the holiday season. Happy Christmas, and a
great New Year. Yours Sincerely. Bill Hedges. |
