Here 23868882 Sgt Les Deacon late of 1st Bn.Royal Sussex Regt./ 3 Queens Rgt 1961 - 1973.
A really well organized and informative site. Well done ! The Duke of
Edinburgh's Royal Regiment --- a really fine regiment, I always got the feeling in the 60`s that we were following each other around (we were in Malta, Libya,
Germany and many other places, posted together. My regiment was sadly "erased" by the MOD.
All the more reason to make you aware of a mistake on your otherwise brilliant site. You have forgotten the ROYAL in 1st
Bn. Royal Sussex Regiment (worth at least 10 days RP`s when I was serving).
Keep it moving and keep smiling
Take peaceful care

Boris and Team, Just fell
into this website and what a pleasant surprise. I would like to add
my thanks and appreciation for the hard work that you and the rest of the
team have quite clearly put into it. As with other comments already
made this will ensure that the Regiment is not forgotten. I will
enjoy taking some time to explore the site and watch it develop in the
future . |

Dear Boris,
I have just surfed the Regimental Web pages thoroughly for the first time, although I have visited
very briefly during the early days of the Web Page. I am most impressed with all the obvious hard work
and enterprise that has gone into making it a first-class publication - well
done to all concerned. I have been very touched by the Roll of Honour and it brought back many memories of a considerable
number of old comrades and friends with whom I. Thank you for your commitment
to this enterprise.
Yours
Norman West |

Just found the
web site, (Well I do live in the outback), didn't know a site
existed. Judging by the list of names someone should remember me,
drop me a line. |

Hi great web site just found
it, I enlisted in the regiment in may 1960 and left in 1969 I knew Private
Fenton and was in B coy in Canada when he was killed in the
car crash, I also have a photo of him in Canada with
the RSM of the regiment, I also was present at his
funeral when we returned to the UK . Also in
the book of remembrance one of mates was killed in a car crash in Malta
his name was Johnny Scot and Sid Roe who I new quite well I do have a
photograph of Sid when he was in Canada I was also at the
graveside when Scott and Roe were buried in Malta,
also in the book they say that they were killed in
Florina this is wrong they were killed in Spinola about four miles away
and perhaps no more than one mile from St Patrick's Barracks.
I do have a lot of photos of the regiment in Libya Canada I
was eighteen when I first joined in 1960 I have just
reached 60 and love my time in the Regiment Patrick
